About the position
The Field Engineering Specialist at Roche is responsible for providing exceptional technical support and service for assigned product lines within the Greensboro, NC area. This role focuses on diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures, ensuring customer satisfaction through routine maintenance and on-site service. The position emphasizes problem-solving and customer interaction, contributing to quality improvement and operational excellence in healthcare diagnostics.
Responsibilities
- Showcase expertise in technical repair for Roche assigned product lines.
- Provide routine technical support and on-site service for laboratory customers.
- Perform preventative maintenance and diagnose mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures.
- Document all activities and contribute to quality improvement efforts.
- Maximize customer satisfaction through effective service and support.
Requirements
- High school diploma and 2 years of technical school or equivalent military training or equivalent work experience.
- 5 years of progressive experience repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking, OR a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry or related field plus 1-2 years of progressive experience in a similar role.
- Successfully training or certification as defined by RD Services Leadership and policy.
- Ability to travel, including some overnight travel.
Nice-to-haves
- 8+ years of progressive experience in a relevant field or a Bachelor's degree plus 4+ years of progressive experience.
- Advanced knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, information technology, and basic chemistry.
- Ability to serve as an internal technical resource and maintain strong customer relationships.
