About the position
The Fiber Optic Technician role involves the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of fiber optic cables and equipment. This position requires a mid-level technician with at least 2 years of experience in fiber splicing and electrical systems. Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair fiber optic cables and equipment
- Perform fusion splicing and termination of fiber optic cables
- Test and certify fiber optic networks using OTDRs and other testing equipment
- Conduct fiber optic cable routing and management
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a Fiber Technician or in a related field
- Knowledge of low voltage electrical systems and mechanical principles
- Familiarity with fiber optic installation techniques and industry standards
- Proficient in fusion splicing, termination, and testing of fiber optic cables
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
