About the position

Zero dB Communications is seeking a Fiber Optics Technician to join their team in Seattle. The role involves splicing and testing fiber optic cables, maintaining project timelines, and ensuring accurate documentation of work performed. The technician will work in a fast-paced environment and must be able to meet physical demands associated with the job.

Responsibilities

• Splicing fiber optic cables
• Reading, creating, and maintaining splicing schematics and diagrams
• Maintaining control of the work site
• Maintaining accurate splicing and field notes
• Supporting project timelines
• Inspecting, designing, and providing accurate staking sheets for projects

Requirements

• At least 1 year of previous experience in the fiber optic field
• Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets the company's minimum safety standard
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft applications
• In-depth understanding of technology-based services, products, and networking
• Experience in Project Management is a plus
• Desirable work experience includes field engineering and project lead responsibility
• Ability to meet physical requirements such as climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, lifting up to 50 lbs, and standing for long periods
