About the position

Prince Telecom is hiring entry level Fiber Optic Technicians in West Des Moines, IA to join our team and help connect America! We provide paid training, a company vehicle, full benefits and more! Compensation: $18/hr+ Job Type: Full-Time (W2)

Responsibilities

• Install, disconnect, reconnect, add, change, and troubleshoot fiber optic systems.
• Set up and configure residential networking equipment such as ONT's, routers and switches.
• Perform testing on company issued devices and customer devices.
• Interface with customers to identify and remedy sources of customer-perceived issues.
• Complete paperwork accurately and report/record work order status updates.
• Greet and interact with customers in a professional courteous manner including when responding to escalations and repeated customer concerns.
• Review all requested services with the customer in order to ensure understanding and agreement.
• Educate the customer regarding product and service usage.

Requirements

• Minimum 18 years old
• Valid standard driver's license required
• Authorized to work in the United States for this company without sponsorship
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Comfortable working in tight spaces (crawl spaces, house attics, etc.)
• Comfortable working through inclement weather
• Comfortable using small hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to lift, climb, and carry ladders weighing up to 80lbs.
