About the position
CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Federal Marketing Manager to lead the business development process for U.S. government contracts within the Federal Services Unit (FSU). This role involves supervising a nationwide team of marketing professionals, ensuring quality control in proposals, and developing strategies to win new engagements. The manager will also be responsible for training, performance feedback, and continuous improvement of business analytics tools.
Responsibilities
- Partner with FSU's sales staff to apply CDM Smith's formal business development process.
- Develop and monitor annual marketing and sales plans and business development budgets.
- Serve as proposal manager for highest-priority opportunities.
- Manage the schedule of proposals and other marketing deliverables.
- Supervise assigned staff, providing feedback on performance.
- Mentor assigned staff to foster their long-term development.
- Lead development and delivery of FSU sales-related training courses.
- Track, monitor, and analyze the unit's business development performance statistics.
- Collaborate with the Chief Marketing Officer and other business unit marketing leads on continuous improvement of marketing/sales tools and procedures.
- Lead firm-wide marketing task forces and committees.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- 12 years of related experience with at least 5 years in a management or supervisory capacity.
- Proven experience in proposal development and management, preferably within the federal services sector.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in business analytics and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
