About the position

The position involves working as a Farmworker and Laborer in Crop, Nursery, and Greenhouse settings. The role is temporary, requiring physical labor and the ability to work in various weather conditions. Workers will perform a range of tasks related to crop management, equipment maintenance, and general farm operations.

Responsibilities

• Record information about crops such as pesticide use, yields, or costs.
• Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops.
• Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment.
• Set up, repair, maintain, and operate irrigation equipment such as pivots and wells.
• Clean irrigation tips and inform farmers or farm managers of crop progress.
• Identify plants, pests, and weeds to determine the selection and application of pesticides and fertilizers.
• Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow, fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray, and harvest crops.
• Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping.
• Push, pile, spread manure and haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, and other materials to condition soil.
• Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures.

Requirements

• No prior experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire.
