About The Position

This role involves working as a team member to collect, store, count, and record eggs. Responsibilities include maintaining clean and dry housing, reporting any discrepancies to the farm foreman, and assisting with general farm maintenance and care. Ensuring proper ventilation as directed by the foreman is crucial. Daily collection and proper disposal of dead birds, as well as the proper euthanasia of crippled or injured birds, are also key duties. Employees must not be afraid of live chickens and/or roosters.

Requirements

• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Physical ability to bend, stoop, squat, or kneel.
• Ability to walk the length of the chicken houses several times a day.
• Understanding the importance of the Animal Welfare Program.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to push or pull 100 pounds on occasion.
• Comfortable with standing and walking for extended periods.
• Must not be scared of live chickens and/or roosters.
