About The Position

Parent Cooperative Community (PCC) is a nonprofit organization based in Sacramento, CA, with a retreat location in Woodland, CA. We serve adoptive families across California by providing trauma-informed support through High-Fidelity Wraparound services, therapeutic programming, retreats, and family engagement opportunities. Our mission is to promote comfort, connection, and community so that every child feels loved and valued, and every family feels supported by someone who understands their journey. We believe healing happens through relationships, consistency, and individualized care that honors each youth and family’s unique strengths. The Family Support Specialist (FSS) plays a vital role in supporting youth and families within their home environment through trauma-informed, strengths-based services. PCC primarily serves adoptive youth and families who have experienced trauma, disrupted attachments, and complex behavioral, emotional, and developmental challenges. This position is highly relational and requires the ability to build trust with both youth and caregivers. The FSS works directly in the home to implement individualized, family-centered plans that support emotional regulation, strengthen caregiver-child relationships, and improve overall family functioning. As a member of the Child and Family Team (CFT), the FSS contributes observations and input to support the development and ongoing updates of the family’s Plan of Care (POC). This role emphasizes collaboration, intentional support, and a strengths-based approach to supporting families.
