About The Position

KidsStreet Urgent Care is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their growing team in Montgomery, Alabama. The FNP will provide patient-focused care, aiming to help patients feel better quickly. The services offered include urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care setting. This role is open to new graduates, with comprehensive on-site orientation, training shifts, and ongoing support, including a complimentary pediatric urgent care CE course and an NP on-call for clinical decision-making. The position allows FNPs to utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages from infants to geriatrics, which helps keep skills sharp and marketability high. The role emphasizes leadership, with the FNP acting as the primary medical provider in the clinic, supported by treatment protocols and a team of medical assistants. A rewarding aspect of the role is growing and inspiring medical assistants. KidsStreet is committed to supporting families in the community by providing accessible care, accepting Medicaid, and being open 362 days a year to avoid costly ER visits. This position offers extensive pediatric care experience while maintaining other clinical skills, described as a 'rocket ship' for career advancement. Requirements

  • Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (company covers the cost).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Perform minor procedures such as toenail removal and foreign object removal.
  • Suture.
  • Splint.
  • Conduct general orthopedic evaluations/management.
  • Review x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist).
  • Manage general dermatology issues.
  • Address general eye problems.
  • Perform general EKG interpretations.
  • Utilize emergency management skills.
  • Apply general GYN expertise.
  • Treat children of all ages.
  • Provide occupational medicine services.
  • Conduct telemedicine appointments.
