About the position

BJC Medical Group is seeking a Primary Care Physician to join our growing team based on the campus of Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Illinois. Belleville is just 30 minutes from Downtown St. Louis. We offer residency stipends, student loan repayment assistance, and a signing bonus. BJC Medical Group serves thousands of patients every day across Missouri (MO) and Illinois (IL). We are a physician-led group and part of BJC HealthCare, one of the top health care organizations in the country. Practice Highlights include 36 clinical hours per week (with a half day off every week!), an average of 18 patients per day, a spacious clinic located on the beautiful grounds of BJC's Memorial Hospital, joining an existing practice with seasoned providers, a full-scope practice of primary care, EPIC EMR, strong organizational support and recognition, and zero after-hours call. Compensation & Benefit Highlights include a $300,000 2-Year Guarantee, competitive two-year guarantee based on skills and experience, a sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, pharmacy, long-term disability, life, and malpractice insurance with tail coverage. Responsibilities

  • Manages the medical care of patient panel by providing or otherwise arranging for inpatient hospital care of physician's patients, either through regular hospital rounds or making arrangements with hospitalists or other qualified physicians.
  • Collaborates with patients, families, and members of the care team to ensure excellent patient care outcomes at designated clinic locations and any other BJC clinical outreach locations.
  • Performs and documents medical histories and physicals in the patient's medical record as required by hospital medical staff bylaws.
  • Provides or arranges for call coverage for clinic patients and inpatient call coverage in accordance with Medical Staff bylaws.
  • Collaborates and teaches advanced practice providers, support staff, or any care team member assigned in the care of physician's patient panel.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Medicine
