Wunderkind PR, Inc. is seeking a Fall Publicity Intern to join our dynamic team, either virtually or in-person at our Valley Cottage, NY office. Founded by Elena Stokes in 2008, Wunderkind PR has a rich history in the publicity sector, with a focus on personalized attention and creative planning to effectively grow authors' brands. As an intern, you will gain invaluable insights into the world of publicity campaigns, marketing strategies, and social media initiatives. This internship is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in creating press materials, including drafting press releases, email pitches, and weekly media reports. You will also have the opportunity to learn about the various aspects of publishing and the different roles within publicity, marketing, and social media. Our past interns have successfully transitioned into roles at prestigious publishing houses such as Penguin Random House, Scholastic, and Simon & Schuster, showcasing the potential career paths available after this internship. This is a unique opportunity to work with a team that has collaborated with bestselling authors and notable properties, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of the publicity landscape.
Responsibilities
- Learn the ins and outs of a publicity campaign as well as marketing and social media initiatives.
- Assist the team in creating press materials, including drafting press releases, email pitches, and weekly media reports.
- Gain experience in the behind-the-scenes operations of publishing and explore various opportunities in publicity, marketing, and social media.
Requirements
- Ability to receive credit from your College or University.
- Work virtually 3 days per week or come into our Valley Cottage, NY office 3 days a week.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A love of books.
