About The Position

As the leading global association of mutual funds, ETFs, and other regulated funds, the mission of the Investment Company Institute (ICI) is to strengthen the foundation of the asset management industry for the ultimate benefit of the long-term individual investor. We currently have an internship opportunity available in our Law department during the fall. This is a great opportunity to work with attorneys developing policy positions, analyzing legislative and regulatory proposals relevant to the mutual fund industry, educating members about legal and policy developments, and working on other ICI initiatives. Interns also will have the opportunity to attend meetings with ICI staff, member firms, and others, as appropriate. The intern will assist securities and/or international attorneys in the following ways: Research legal and regulatory issues including agency rule proposals and adoptions, enforcement actions, and other regulatory initiatives; summarize findings orally, in emails and/or memoranda. Contribute to written advocacy and educational materials including comment letters, issue-specific website materials and member memos. Draft various communications to law department staff and members including summaries of conferences and other events and updates on regulatory initiatives. Track and summarize litigation related to the asset management industry. Work on other federal and state policy projects as needed.
