About the position

The Physician Assistant (PA) Department at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science is seeking a full-time faculty member. This individual's primary role will be as an instructor. This position includes teaching and assessment of a variety of professional and clinical topics throughout the didactic and clinical curriculum. In addition to a resume/CV, the PA Program requests that applicants submit a personal statement, as well as a statement detailing what diversity means to them.

Responsibilities

  • Participation in curriculum development, delivery, and assessment
  • Instruction throughout didactic and clinical phases of the program
  • Academic and professional advising for students
  • Involvement in the admissions process
  • Participation in faculty development activities
  • Service on committees at the department, college, and university level
  • Participation in the ARC-PA accreditation process
  • Ongoing scholarly activity (e.g. presentations, publications, grants, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Master's degree
  • At least 3 years of direct patient care healthcare experience
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and problem-solving
  • Apply the principles of interprofessional collaboration
  • Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and clinical sites
  • Interact professionally with diverse populations
  • Display professionalism and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the program's continuing commitment to cultural diversity, pluralism, and individual differences

Nice-to-haves

  • Physician Assistant (PA) with current NCCPA certification and Illinois Physician Assistant license (or eligible)
  • Previous experience in health profession graduate education, including curriculum development, delivery, and assessment
  • Education beyond the Master's Degree
  • Prior experience with ARC-PA accreditation process
