The Applied Theology and Global Church Ministries Field of Moody Theological Seminary seeks to appoint a full-time junior or senior faculty member to its Plymouth campus beginning with the Fall 2025 semester. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in practical and pastoral theology and ministry practice, excellent communication skills, involvement in academic research and writing, eagerness to mentor students and perform faculty service, and enthusiasm for MBI's mission and theological commitments. Candidates should have the skill necessary to assist ministry practitioners to apply the content of Biblical and Systematic Theology to current cultural issues in the context of the global church. Responsibilities will consist of teaching 9 hours per semester at the seminary and engagement in research and writing. Willingness to teach in different modalities (HyFlex, Online, Online Synchronous, Directed Study, etc.). Primary teaching needs include homiletics, ministry and pastoral leadership, pastoral ministry and practice, pastoral care and counseling, etc. Women, minorities, and those conversant in Spanish are encouraged to apply. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position. * Prepare syllabi and teach students in assigned courses. * Determine instructional outcomes appropriate to each course taught and assess student academic and/or skill achievement related to those outcomes. Such outcomes are to be consistent with departmental mission and objectives. * Be prompt in submission of grades, reports, and other required information. * Serve as academic advisor to assigned students. * Be present on campus a minimum of three days per week, and post and maintain a minimum of eight office hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. * Assist the field chair with the development and maintenance of program goals. * Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a program assessment plan. * Work with the field chair to implement changes in program curriculum based upon assessment results. * Provide the field chair with professional goals and objectives for an annual performance review. * Attend designated chapels, retreats, and events to further the sense of community, shared values, and experiences. * Be engaged in professional development, scholarship, and research and writing appropriate to the primary discipline and in the scholarship of teaching. * Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements * Doctor of Ministry in Applied Theology or a related discipline. * The Doctor of Philosophy degree in Ministerial or Biblical/Theological Studies is preferred * Commitment and ability to teach existing Applied Theology and Global Church Ministry courses as well as to develop new ones. * A commitment to transformational learning and the development of the whole student, demonstrated through a dedication to Christ-centered teaching and learning, mentoring, and advising. * An attitude of teamwork, openness, and appreciation for the diversity of ideas within the field. * A high level of personal integrity, energy, and resilience. * A record of academic scholarship through publication in various print and media forums. * Able to work in the US legally without sponsorship. * A member in good standing of an evangelical/Bible believing and practicing church Preferred Requirements * Doctor of Ministry Degree in Applied Theology and Global Church Ministries * Teaching Experience in Applied Theology and Global Church Ministries * Pastoral leadership in a local church or ministry leadership in ministry organization at home or abroad Work Environment/Conditions Moody Bible Institute is a Christian-based Higher Education and Media Ministry.
