About the position

The Facility Services Technician at The Marquardt is responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on equipment, buildings, and furnishings. This role involves a variety of tasks including electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and appliance repairs, ensuring that the facility operates efficiently and safely. The technician will also respond to emergencies and perform on-call services as needed, contributing to a positive environment aligned with the organization's mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and promotes effective communication with all individuals.
• Maintains a positive image of the entity in the community.
• Responsible for on-call services, as assigned.
• Performs minor electrical maintenance including replacement or repair of fixtures.
• Performs minor plumbing maintenance such as repairing leaks in drains and faucets.
• Performs minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work.
• Installs, repairs, and/or replaces appliances.
• Moves, reconfigures, installs, and positions furniture for residents and staff.
• Repairs, modifies, and replaces damaged or missing parts to sheet metal fixtures and equipment.
• Replaces and repairs ceiling tiles and ceiling grid systems.
• Removes blockages to drains and toilets using appropriate tools.
• Prioritizes work orders and completes them in a timely manner.
• Monitors trash area for waste services.
• Repairs, installs, and maintains metal and wood doors, locks, and closures.
• Performs routine system management and testing of life safety systems.
• Responds to facility or environmental emergencies.
• Assists with snow removal during shifts and may be called in outside normal hours.
• Responds to 24-hour emergency calls for assigned work area.
