About the position
Clean Harbors is hiring Local Equipment Operators for our facility in Redwood City, CA. This position requires individuals with a construction or landscaping background, as opposed to warehouse experience. The role involves operating heavy equipment such as excavators and haul trucks on customer sites, as well as unloading waste from incoming trucks. The working hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 10 AM to 6:30 PM, and applicants must live within 50 miles of the facility. The starting salary is $30 per hour, with a pay rate ranging from $30 to $33 per hour. Candidates should be flexible to start at either time, as schedules may change on short notice.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and haul trucks on customer sites.
- Unload waste from incoming trucks.
- Complete daily checklist for proper operation of the unit being operated.
- Ensure the unit is operated safely and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Complete and submit all associated paperwork for waste tracking movements.
- Secure all containers properly using chock blocks and jack stands.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- 6+ months of equipment operating experience preferred.
- Experience with an excavator and/or haul truck preferred.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
