About The Position

Aliya Health Group is a nationwide network of addiction treatment centers known for diverse, evidence-based programs for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders. Our nationally accredited treatment centers include, Vogue Recovery Center, Royal Life Centers. The Chef/Cook will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of culinary direction, menus, service, food safety, sanitation, and compliance with all applicable laws to include: responsible for a consistent, client-centered experience, including maintaining recipe selection, presentation and cleanliness as well as diet restrictions and specialty diets. The cook will be responsible for taking inventory of their products and placing an order twice a week through their provider.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior kitchen experience. Specific experience with serving large populations preferred.
  • Food Handlers Certification
  • CPR Certification
  • Maintain open communication lines with facility staff, attending clinicians, physicians, patients and families
  • Must pass background and drug screening

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of basic food preparation and safety standards.
  • Knowledge of all functions within the kitchen facility.
  • Communicate with the Chef/Dietician/ Nutritionist on necessary quantities and portions of all planned menus.
  • Assume responsibility for the proper food preparation, meal set-up and breakdown, meal service and overall cleanliness.
  • Provides for well-managed and clean facilities and equipment.
  • Executes all tasks in a timely manner and prepare food in such a way that proper portions will be served while attempting to prevent waste from over cooking.
  • Take responsibility for the proper storage and care of foods in the freezers, reach-ins, and walk-in refrigerator, making certain that all areas are kept clean and orderly.
  • Plans, organizes and directs kitchen services under the direction of the Head Chef.
  • Works closely with Head Chef and Management from all fields.
  • If changes are to made to the menu cooks will check with their immediate supervisor (executive chef) before any changes are made.
  • If equipment is to fail in the kitchen. The cook will fill out a maintenance request and contact immediate supervisor.
  • The cook is responsible for the kitchen at all times.
  • Keeping door shut and locked when not present to prevent non personnel in the kitchen.
  • Properly shutting down equipment when not in use or at the end of their shift.
  • Responsible for all temperature logs and food serving logs for their designated shift.
  • Responsible for taking inventory and twice a week through said providers.
  • Always using safety first.
