About The Position

Provide basic barber services to the resident population in accordance with agency policy. This role involves afternoon/evening hours.

Requirements

• Possess valid Virginia license as a cosmetologist
• Proficient technical skills in basic barber/grooming services and with barber tools.
• Ability to identify existing or potential scalp problems.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective communication with residents, co-workers and facility staff.
• Ability to read, write and perform simple mathematical computations to meet documentation and reporting requirements.
• Fundamental knowledge of the principles, practices, services and techniques unique to a therapeutic community environment.
• Knowledge, skills and ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to use good judgment.

Nice To Haves

• Basic word processing and computer skills
• Previous experience in long-term care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic barber services to the resident population in accordance with agency policy.
• Administer CPR and First Aid.
• Perform duties at a fast pace with frequent change.
• Interact with other professionals from various disciplines.
