About The Position

This position is responsible for planning, preparing and executing mechanical repairs in both the West McArthur River Unit (WMRU) and Kustatan Production Facility (KPF) and rolling stock fleets. Daily responsibilities include operating, troubleshooting, testing, and performing mechanical repairs or maintenance tasks on production equipment, heavy equipment, all rolling stock, etc. in a safe, economic, and environmentally sound manner without supervision. Production equipment can include gas turbines, reciprocating compressors, gas dehydration systems, three phase separators, treaters, transmission equipment and pumps. The role involves working closely with the operations team, instrument techs and electricians on a variety of maintenance projects at the WMRU and KPF locations, performing routine PM work on all equipment and maintaining equipment readiness, and performing roll over PMs on pumps and equipment in standby. The mechanic will identify opportunities for improvements in production equipment and communicate solutions to the Lead Operator, participate in facility and/or drill site modifications and special projects as needed or perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Operator, and assist in the resolution of technical problems and safety issues. The role also includes maintaining an excellent personal safety and environmental record, competently performing daily functions to ensure safe practices and environmental compliance, participating in all safety training and assisting in safety procedures such as basic first aid, CPR, fire drills, spill response and emergency evacuation, and meeting and keeping current with required operator certifications, regulatory training and compliance requirements. Communication involves maintaining operational accountability and keeping the KPF and WMRU Operators and Lead Operator updated on the operational status of the assigned area, notifying the Lead Operator of complex maintenance issues that require corrective action, communicating daily operational goals and needs effectively to operations personnel and Lead Operator, and reporting all spills, near misses, injuries, and property damage to the Lead Operator. Leadership involves demonstrating support of client's health, safety and environmental goals to all personnel and contractors on site, adhering to client values, commitment to an established work schedule, attendance standards and punctuality, and taking ownership of actions and following through on commitments.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience with facility maintenance in the oil and gas industry.
  • Ability to work a 2-week on and 2-week off schedule in a remote field.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, troubleshoot, test, and perform mechanical repairs or maintenance tasks on production equipment, heavy equipment, all rolling stock, etc. in a safe, economic, and environmentally sound manner without supervision.
