About the position

The Facilities Supervisor is an entry-level management position responsible for supervising custodial staff at client job locations. This role involves ensuring quality service delivery, training staff, scheduling work, and maintaining communication with clients. The Facilities Supervisor plays a crucial role in managing daily operations and ensuring compliance with cleaning standards and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a group of custodial staff at contracted client job locations.
• Schedule and assign work to custodial personnel.
• Train custodial staff on cleaning routines and proper use of supplies and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with site-specific check-in and check-out procedures.
• Maintain ongoing communication with client site management.
• Plan and oversee custodial work to maintain safety and cleanliness standards.
• Inspect custodial staff performance regularly according to service agreements.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
• Ensure custodial staff wear proper uniforms and PPE.
• Utilize timekeeping systems for staff clocking in and out.
• Deploy resources efficiently to meet operational and cost expectations.
• Complete preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Provide ongoing safety training to custodial staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in custodial services or facilities maintenance preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to train and supervise staff effectively.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and safety standards.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous supervisory experience in a custodial or facilities maintenance role.
• Familiarity with environmentally sustainable cleaning practices.
