As a Facilities Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our corporate campus, ensuring that both internal and external environments are attractive and functional. This position involves performing general facility maintenance, repairs, inspections, and organizational tasks across multiple buildings on our campus. In this role, you will be the first responder to unexpected and emergency facility issues, ensuring that problems are addressed promptly and effectively. Your responsibilities will include general maintenance and repairs of campus buildings, supporting office moves and changes, and maintaining the exterior of the buildings and landscaping. You will also provide support for the company vehicle fleet, including movement, storage, and fueling, and assist in setting up facilities for meetings and special events. Additionally, you will conduct preventative maintenance, inspections, and testing of various company equipment and systems, such as boilers, irrigation systems, emergency generators, chillers, and air handling systems. Quality inspections of contractor maintenance work will also be part of your duties, along with managing inventory of facility parts and supplies in an organized manner. This position requires a proactive approach to record retention functions and corporate support services, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

• First response to unexpected, unplanned, and emergency facility issues or problems.
• Perform general facility maintenance and repairs within RLI's campus buildings.
• Support interior building, office, and cubical moves and changes.
• Make adjustments to modular furniture systems and employee workstations.
• Perform general building exterior and campus landscaping maintenance.
• Provide company vehicle fleet support, including movement, storage, and fueling.
• Set up facilities for meetings, special events, and company functions.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and testing of company equipment and systems (boiler, irrigation systems, emergency generator, chiller, mobile equipment, and air handling systems).
• Coordinate and conduct quality inspections of contractor maintenance and work.
• Manage inventory of facility parts and supplies in a neat and organized fashion.
• Provide periodic support for record retention functions, company storage, and warehouse use.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of related experience in facility maintenance or a technical mechanical degree from a two-year institution preferred.
• Solid mechanical aptitude and skilled at using power tools and equipment for repairs.
• Experience with vehicles and other mobile operating equipment.
• Ability to move equipment, desks, and other materials in an office or warehouse environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with others.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency in responding to issues.

Nice-to-haves

• Technical mechanical degree from a two-year institution.
• Experience in facility management or maintenance roles.
