About The Position

The Student Union Building (SUB) is a central part of campus life, offering a fun, fast-paced, and high-energy work environment. It provides opportunities for students to make connections, collaborate, and create memorable experiences. The SUB is a dynamic workplace with leadership opportunities, teamwork, and hands-on professional development. This role supports the daily operations and maintenance of the Student Union Building, reporting to the Student Facilities Technician Manager. Facilities Technicians assist with the facility’s upkeep and operations by completing work orders and tasks assigned by the Facilities Operations Manager. This position works closely with the operations team and custodial team to ensure the Student Union is a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. They respond to facility needs, fix minor maintenance issues, and prepare spaces for events and meetings. Student Facilities Technicians also service retail locations across campus, completing work orders and troubleshooting minor maintenance issues. This position assists with event setup/tear-down as needed. Ideal candidates are dependable, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This position offers hands-on experience in teamwork, time management, and responsibility within a dynamic and engaging campus environment. The SUB is looking for a candidate available to start SUMMER 2026 and that can work between 15-28 hours/week.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, understand, and safety procedures.
  • Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment
  • Ability to use hand tools applicable to trade.
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.

  • Work-study preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine facility checks.
  • Responsible for basic maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, repairing fixtures, moving heavy equipment, etc.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and manipulate at least 30lbs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team.
  • Ability to work independently as needed.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Assist Operations team as needed.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
