About the position
The Facilities Maintenance Technician at Ascension is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and systems throughout the facility. This role is essential in ensuring the operational efficiency of the hospital's infrastructure, particularly in a healthcare setting. The technician will troubleshoot various mechanical issues, including electrical pumps, motors, plumbing, and carpentry tasks, contributing to the overall maintenance and safety of the facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment and systems throughout the facility.
- Install, test, maintain, and repair mechanical machinery, equipment, and systems as scheduled or needed.
- Perform utility and structural repairs as needed, alone or in collaboration with internal/external trades.
- Inspect and test equipment.
- Document and maintain records of inspections and work performed pursuant to departmental policies and warranty/vendor requirements.
- Requisition materials and supplies, maintain inventory.
- Respond to emergency calls in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Maintenance Professional specializing in Mechanics preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous healthcare or commercial building experience preferred.
- Previous building technician, facilities technician, and maintenance engineers encouraged to apply.
