About The Position

Manage activities relating to the planning, ownership, and management of all facilities, including leasing, selling, construction, maintenance, security, courier, housekeeping, and participation in acquisitions and closings. Purchases equipment maintaining adequate inventory of supplies and materials. Ensures all credit union buildings and equipment are functioning correctly and are maintained in excellent condition. Manage and perform commercial building and preventative maintenance including: HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.

Requirements

  • Five to ten years of similar or related experience with commercial HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and OSHA knowledge.
  • Motivating or influencing others is an integral part of the job.
  • Effective communication with contacts inside and outside the organization is essential.
  • Fostering relationships with other entities (companies and individuals) is necessary.
  • The role requires a significant level of emotional intelligence.
  • Interactions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Ability to stay organized and manage time effectively in a high-volume environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Maintains confidentiality related to credit union operations and work-related information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate degree or achievement of formal certifications recognized the industry as equivalent to an associate degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Hires, reviews, schedules, trains, directs, and monitors the work of the Facility department; allocates resources to meet needs within the department; addresses employee relations; reviews and approves, denies, or modifies department recommendations from employees
  • Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and overall condition of IFCU's multi-building campus. This is a hands-on, working manager role that combines physical maintenance work with leadership, planning, and coordination responsibilities.
  • Analyzes and evaluates property requirements. Advises CFO of present and future needs.
  • Manages source, selection, bidding, scheduling, follow-up, receiving, inspection, inventory control, and distribution of purchased or leased materials for the credit union.
  • Works with and oversees third-party facility vendors, contractors, and suppliers. Performs vendor due diligence and contract reviews of potential vendors.
  • Participates in establishing an annual operating budget and monitors performance to budget throughout the year.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
