Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, work orders to plan, layout, assembly, and welding operations.
- Set up and operate welding equipment to weld, repair, join or fabricate parts by working off blueprints, sketches or verbal orders.
- Perform seam finishing, component fit-up, drilling and tapping and other minor machining functions.
- Recommend tooling needed to save time.
- Move material with appropriate equipment throughout the work area as needed (forklifts and crane, etc.).
- Complete standard job sheets for each job.
- Report any discrepancies in material to management.
- Maintain tools, gauges and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
- Comply with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Able to stand for 8-10 hours a day and be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
- Three or more years of related work experience.
- Able to read blueprints.
- Knowledge of and experience with TIG, MIG, stick welding, riveting, and soldering, as well as calipers, and multiple measuring devices.
- Has high standards of performance for self.

- Must be able to work up to 12 hours per day including Saturday and Sunday when required.
Nice-to-haves
- Press brake and shear experience preferred.
- Proficiency in welding of aluminum and copper preferred.
- Proficiency in hand grinding, drilling, anchoring, rigging.
- Ability to create drawings from verbal direction.
- Ability to properly specify and size appropriate materials for project.
- PC literacy in basic programs.
- Literacy and reading comprehension a must.
- Basic math skills.
