We’re looking for a motivated Fabrication Machine Operator who is passionate about hands‑on work, safety, and craftsmanship.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or Metals Fabrication Certificate, 1–3 months of relevant experience/training or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Basic reading and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction)
  • Ability to measure accurately using tape measures and precision tools (feet, inches, thousandths)
  • Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions
  • Problem‑solving skills in standardized situations
  • Ability to safely operate: Hand tools & air-powered tools Fabrication equipment (brake, shear, laser, rollers, punch, saws) Hoists
  • Frequent standing and walking for up to 10-hour shifts
  • Manual dexterity and ability to reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Good vision (close, peripheral, depth perception)
  • Work environment includes exposure to chemicals (metalworking fluids, cleaners, brake fluid, etc.)
  • Loud environment—hearing protection required

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of metal fabrication equipment, such as brakes, rollers, shears, lasers, and saws
  • Grind, sand, hammer, and chip metal parts to achieve required finishes
  • Tag, identify, and correctly stage work-pieces
  • Use precision tools to verify parts meet specifications
  • Collaborate with leads/supervisors to resolve fabrication or part issues
  • Safely operate hoists, lift tables, and (with certification) forklifts
  • Handle machinery and materials with a strong focus on safety and quality
  • Locate and mark cutting or bending lines on materials
  • Set up and operate fabrication machines
  • Select and secure fixtures, cutting tools, and proper materials
  • Calculate and set machine controls (speed, feed, angles, depth, and other parameters)
  • Start, monitor, and adjust machinery to ensure proper operation
  • Run trial pieces to confirm accuracy of machine setup or programmed instructions
  • Perform additional duties as needed
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance
