About the position

We are seeking a skilled Extrusion Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining extrusion machinery, ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of plastics processing and the ability to work with precision measuring instruments. The Extrusion Operator will play a crucial role in producing high-quality plastic products while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate extrusion machinery to produce plastic products according to specifications.
  • Monitor production processes, making adjustments as necessary to maintain product quality.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, to ensure product dimensions meet specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot mechanical issues as they arise.
  • Assemble and fabricate components as needed during the production process.
  • Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.

Requirements

  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to production processes.
  • Experience with plastics blow molding or injection molding is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to use hand tools effectively.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics related to machinery operation.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous but not required.
