Oklahoma State University (OSU) Extension educators serve as the primary point of contact between the University and the residents of Oklahoma, connecting OSU with people across all 77 counties. OSU Extension operates as a federal, state, and county partnership, established in 1914. Its mission is to disseminate research-based information to Oklahomans and encourage the adoption of knowledge generated through research. Extension educators provide this information to clients in areas such as agriculture, family and consumer sciences, 4-H youth development, and community and rural development. This specific position is located in the Garfield County Extension Office in Enid, Oklahoma, and focuses on agricultural and 4-H youth development programs, with approximately 90% of the time dedicated to agriculture and 10% to 4-H youth development. The role involves collaborating with local clientele and advisory groups to plan, implement, and evaluate the overall OSU Extension County program. The incumbent will be required to maintain a cellular or other electronic communication device, with compensation provided for its use. Extension educators adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines concerning equal opportunity, civil rights, and affirmative action. Employment is with the organization, not a specific location, and future relocation may be necessary. Continuation of employment depends on need, performance, and available county funding.
