About The Position

John Paul II Center for Special Learning is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support our Extended School Year (ESY) program. The ESY program runs for 5 weeks during the summer and operates on a half-day schedule. This position provides an opportunity to support students with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a structured, supportive, and faith-centered environment while helping them maintain critical academic and functional skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Special Education or equivalent
• Pennsylvania Special Education Certification required
• Experience working with students with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Commitment to supporting the mission and values of the John Paul II Center for Special Learning

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities during the ESY program.
• Implement IEP goals and support the maintenance of academic, communication, and functional skills.
• Work collaboratively with classroom support staff and related service providers.
• Maintain a structured and supportive classroom environment.
• Collect and document student progress data as needed.
• Support students' social, behavioral, and communication development.
