About the position
The CNC Parts Machining and Assembly Technician at Park Aerospace Corporation is responsible for the assembly of composite parts according to work orders. This role involves finishing parts through various processes such as bonding, trimming, drilling, and sanding, while also ensuring quality and adherence to specifications. The technician will operate a 5-Axis machine and utilize small hand tools to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
Responsibilities
- Reads blueprints, diagrams, process sheets, and schematic drawings.
- Examines products for defects, performing required tests and measurements.
- Wet lay-up, vacuum bagging, and de-burring of composite parts.
- Marks and cuts materials following templates and specific dimensions.
- Records information on production records and logs, including Oracle transactions.
- Performs re-work and repairs defective products as needed.
- Uses small hand tools and fixtures for assembly and finishing tasks.
- Mixes and applies resins and bonding adhesives.
- Tracks time and temperature-sensitive materials to ensure quality.
- Handles a flexible schedule, including potential Saturday work.
- Participates in team efforts to achieve departmental goals and quality standards.
- Maintains cleanliness in the department to promote a positive work culture.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years experience in a composite manufacturing environment preferred.
- Knowledge of 5-Axis machining, tool prep, hand trim, and assembly processes.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical documents.
- Strong quality orientation and attention to detail.
- Problem analysis and resolution skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Accurate computer entry skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong team player.
