About the position
The Experienced Caregiver position at Senior Helpers involves providing compassionate care to seniors in an independent living facility. The role focuses on enhancing the quality of life for clients by offering companionship, assistance with daily activities, and support in maintaining their independence. Caregivers are expected to work part-time during daytime shifts, contributing to a supportive team environment dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of seniors.
Responsibilities
- Provide caring companionship, conversation, and help with hobbies and leisure activities.
- Transport and accompany clients to their appointments.
- Assist with meal planning, shopping, and meal preparation.
- Supervise daily activities.
- Light housekeeping duties.
- Give medication reminders.
- Collaborate with the client's care team to provide updates and report important health changes.
Requirements
- 1 year of experience as a personal care assistant, home health aide, or professional caregiver.
- Certification as a PCA/HHA is a plus.
- Experience caring for dementia clients.
- A valid driver's license and insured automobile suitable for transporting clients.
- High level of professionalism, reliability, and punctuality.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks as assigned.
