About the position

The Expeditor role at SGS North America Inc. involves overseeing the manufacturing and fabrication of industrial equipment at vendor and manufacturing sites. The position requires checking the status of engineering designs, purchase orders, material availability, and fabrication stages, as well as issuing reports on findings. This contract position is flexible and paid based on hours worked, with reimbursement for travel expenses.

Responsibilities

• Check status of engineering design and approval status including approval of documents and ITP.
• Verify purchase orders to sub-vendors for material supply and expected delivery dates.
• Assess material availability in stock and delivery status of remaining components.
• Monitor the fabrication stage of equipment and planned activities.
• Evaluate supplier plans for improving delivery dates if fabrication is delayed.
• Ensure supplier QMS contributes to quality product and verify plans for expediting and testing activities per approved QA/QC plans/ITP.
• Take photographs of all material and fabrication stages of components and equipment.
• Obtain copies of relevant and non-proprietary documents.
• Issue expediting report after each completion.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in expediting fixed and/or rotating machinery and equipment.
• Familiarity with industrial, commercial, and technical practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and proven time management skills.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions accurately.

Nice-to-haves

• Certification in expediting or related fields.
• Additional certifications such as CWI or NDT.
