About the position

Presbyterian Homes & Services is seeking an Executive Business Partner for its team. The Executive Business Partner to the CEO / Board Liaison plays a critical role in supporting the CEO and Board of Directors in a fast-paced senior living organization with over 8,000 employees and more than 60 operating communities. This position requires exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical skills to manage executive-level priorities with discretion and precision. The ideal candidate is a trusted confidant, adept at preparing board materials, managing confidential information, and facilitating smooth interactions between the executive team, board members, and other stakeholders. This leader will work collaboratively with senior leadership, staff, and partners to advance PHS's purpose of honoring God by enriching the lives and touching the hearts of older adults. The right individual should be aligned with PHS's biblically based mission and able to embody and extend Christian culture and values.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the CEO, managing their schedule, correspondence, and travel arrangements, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Anticipate the needs of the CEO and proactively address challenges to maximize their effectiveness.
  • Manage competing demands on the CEO's time, ensuring efficient prioritization of their commitments.
  • Draft and edit high-level communications, including speeches, presentations, and reports aligning with the CEO's strategic objectives.
  • Provide administrative support for meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and follow-up actions.
  • Act as the central liaison to the Board of Directors, ensuring seamless communication and coordination to support effective governance and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Plan and manage all aspects of board and committee meetings, including scheduling, preparing materials in alignment with organizational objectives, ensuring compliance with governance protocols, and maintaining accurate records for review by the CEO and COS.
  • Draft and edit board materials, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Facilitate onboarding for new board members and maintain strong relationships with existing members.
  • Oversee the management of confidential information and serve as a central point of coordination for strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with board members, senior leadership, staff, and external partners to advance organizational objectives.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication among the executive team, Board members, and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor follow-up items from board and executive meetings to ensure progress on action items.
  • Manage and prioritize the CEO's incoming communications, identifying critical issues, responding to appropriate items, and delegating tasks as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain efficient systems for managing documents, reports, and other executive-level materials.
  • Prepare presentation materials, memorandums, and other supporting documents as necessary to support PHS's mission and enhance its ability to serve seniors and their families.
  • Oversee special projects for the CEO, ensuring timely execution and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Research and prepare materials on key topics to support the CEO's decision-making process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Communications, or a related field required; Master's degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience supporting C-suite executives, preferably in a large, complex organization.
  • Experience as a board liaison or in a similar governance-supporting role is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of managing confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for drafting polished and compelling materials.
  • Expertise in managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High-level accuracy in drafting, editing, and reviewing materials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting platforms, and document management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and diverse individuals.
  • Understanding of the unique needs of senior living environments, with a commitment to the faith-based values-based decision-making that aligns with PHS's mission and vision.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, able to evaluate complex data with a focus on maximizing mission-driven impact.
  • Ability to travel within the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area as required.
