About The Position

Hennepin County is seeking an Executive Assistant II to provide specialized administrative support to the Assistant County Administrator of the Health line of business ensuring smooth daily operations and coordination across a wide range of executive-level activities. This role requires independent judgement, confidentiality, and strong organization skills. This position is hybrid and will be performed both at the Hennepin County Government Center building in downtown Minneapolis at 300 South 6th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55487, and remote as job duties require. Work hours will typically be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. On-site expectations will be at least 2 days a week or more if needed. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin. This position is a full-time, benefit earning position. You must be a current regular or probationary employee. This position is internally classified as an Executive Assistant II. Requirements

  • Eight years or more of general administrative work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, or other field appropriate to the position and four years or more of general administrative work experience.
  • Current regular or probationary employee of Hennepin County.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule appointments, arrange meetings and conferences, coordinate public or community relations activities and events, coordinate travel arrangements, and maintain calendars on behalf of the Assistant County Administrator.
  • Attend meetings and take notes.
  • Lead or facilitate committees and projects with authority to act on the executive's behalf.
  • Compose correspondence and reports on behalf of the executive.
  • Oversee preparation of Board Action Requests, personal service agreements, contracts, budget materials, reports, and recommendations.
  • Manage special projects as requested by the executive.
