About the position

The County of Riverside's Transportation department is seeking an Executive Assistant I to support the Transportation Planning Division. This role involves providing front counter services related to business licensing, assisting customers with permit applications, and performing various clerical duties. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in English and Spanish, possess strong customer service skills, and have experience in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers at the front counter, providing guidance on permit application requirements and procedures.
  • Assist the public by referring them to sources of information, giving out standard forms, explaining how to complete them, and answering requests for factual information.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments and staff to facilitate efficient permit processing.
  • Design or revise office forms; set up and maintain complex filing systems.
  • Schedule appointments, coordinate time, place, and participant arrangements for meetings.
  • Sort, screen, and route incoming mail.
  • Provide general information and respond to inquiries regarding permit status, building codes, and other related topics via office and telephone.

Requirements

  • Possession of a valid California Driver's License may be required.
  • Graduation from high school or attainment of a satisfactory score on a G.E.D. test may be required.
  • 3 years of broad and varied clerical experience, including at least one (1) year providing customer service at a front counter, preferably in a building, construction, or permitting environment.
  • Spanish Bilingual level II: Applicants may be required to take a language level exam.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with the PLUS system.
  • Proficiency in document proofing and formatting in Word and Adobe Acrobat.
