About the position

The Environmental Services Technician (Housekeeping) at Select Specialty Hospital is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role is crucial in ensuring the overall condition of the hospital, including sanitation, order, and appearance, which directly contributes to the healing and recovery of critically ill patients. The technician will perform various housekeeping tasks, demonstrating a commitment to customer service excellence and teamwork in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean work environment in assigned areas, including patient rooms, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas.
• Ensure the overall condition of the hospital, focusing on sanitation, order, and appearance.
• Perform routine housekeeping tasks according to established schedules and procedures.
• Clean assigned areas using special cleaning solutions and disinfectants to prevent the spread of disease.
• Dust window sills, blinds, floors, and furniture using dust cloths and vacuum cleaners; empty ashtrays and trash buckets; arrange furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion.
• Make beds with clean linen in a prescribed manner; scour and polish sinks, tubs, mirrors, and similar equipment; replenish supplies of soap, towels, and other dispensable items.

Requirements

• High School degree or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Customer-service oriented team member.
