About the position

The Event Specialist at Wolters Kluwer plays a crucial role in the Global Event Management team, supporting the Director in executing high-quality corporate events that enhance the company's brand and drive revenue growth. This position involves managing various aspects of event planning, including logistics for internal meetings, trade shows, and user conferences, while ensuring a customer-centric approach and adherence to deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Support the overall goals of the team and organization set by the Director.
  • Assist in the management and execution of corporate events to the highest standards under the direction of the event lead.
  • Manage event details including ordering food & beverage, AV, décor, and coordinating activities, gifts, signage, and transportation.
  • Assist trade show managers with booth logistics, including ordering show services and collateral.
  • Support the ordering of event supplies as needed based on the event.
  • Assist the virtual event manager with logistics for virtual and hybrid events.
  • Help the event manager lead in developing and executing the event experience.
  • Provide onsite support for event execution as directed by the Director.
  • Assist with the final reconciliation of event expenses in coordination with the Director and finance team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 1-3 years of work experience in event planning or related field.
  • Proven success in working in matrixed organizations.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Time and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Team player with a flexible, 'can-do' attitude.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Experience with Cvent Event Management and SMM platform.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office suite required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in overall event management and branding efforts.
  • Experience in supplier strategy and management.
