About the position
The Event Coordinator/Birthday Party role at Michaels involves planning, coordinating, and facilitating events, particularly children's birthday parties, within a store environment. The position aims to create a fun and engaging experience for guests while ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. The coordinator will also assist customers in the store, manage event logistics, and uphold company standards for cleanliness and safety.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events including children's birthday parties.
- Deliver friendly customer service and assist customers in locating products.
- Ensure a fast and friendly checkout experience for customers.
- Complete operational tasks such as truck unload and merchandise duties.
- Engage with clients of all ages and create an environment of fun and creativity.
- Demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects and activities.
- Facilitate party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons.
- Communicate event details with clients and store team members.
- Complete administrative tasks including answering emails and making phone calls.
- Adjust plans based on client feedback and create backup plans as needed.
- Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events and uphold cleanliness standards.
- Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
Requirements
- Experience in event coordination and customer service.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle job stress.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
