Event Centers Positions - Montgomery County - Seasonal

About the position

Montgomery County Parks, Enterprise Division, is currently seeking energetic, fun, organized seasonal/intermittent applicants to fill our exciting positions at our Event Centers. Rockwood Manor Retreats & Events located Potomac, MD and the Lodge at Little Seneca Creek located in Boyds, MD. Work hours are flexible to include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays. These facilities are open year-round.

Responsibilities

• Assist with set up and tear down of tables and chairs for Park Event Centers.
• Assist with general cleaning of facility.
• Interpret and understand written diagrams of event space to ensure proper placement of tables and equipment requested by clients.
• Take down and store equipment in a proper manner.
• Assist with maintaining and repairing equipment and building as needed along with general facility and grounds cleaning.
• Opening and closing facility, as scheduled for private, business and social events.
• Greeting guests and ensuring vendors and clients comply with facility rules and regulations.
• Answering phones and emails, responding to client inquiries, scheduling appointments for client tours, conducting tours, processing contracts, and assisting with administrative paperwork.

Requirements

• Must be able to lift 30 pounds frequently and 5-10 pounds constantly.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Must be comfortable with working on a computer.

Nice-to-haves

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to problem solve independently and communicate effectively.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications (training classes available).
