Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 1 years of experience in construction, estimating, or related internship
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural blueprints and technical shop drawings.
- Knowledge of Bluebeam Revu for digital take-offs and strong in Microsoft Excel for cost analysis.
- Willingness to learn construction means, methods, and materials
Responsibilities
- Assist with quantity takeoffs from architectural and structural drawings (e.g., elevations, plans, sections, details)
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and addenda to identify scope requirements
- Support preparation of conceptual, schematic, and detailed cost estimates
- Help obtain and compare vendor, supplier, and subcontractor pricing
- Enter quantities, pricing, and scope notes into estimating software and spreadsheets
- Track revisions, RFIs, and drawing updates during the bid process
- Assist with bid leveling, scope clarification, and proposal formatting
- Maintain organized project files and estimating documentation
- Collaborate with project managers, senior estimators, and sales teams
- Participate in post-bid reviews and lessons learned
