About The Position

Our client, a well-established construction firm specializing in commercial roofing, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial roofing projects, supporting business development efforts, and working closely with project management and operations teams to ensure successful project execution.

Requirements

• 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial roofing or related construction fields
• Strong understanding of commercial roofing systems, materials, and installation methods
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Proficiency with estimating software and Excel (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar tools)
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously

Nice To Haves

• Experience estimating projects ranging from small repairs to large commercial re-roof and new construction projects
• Knowledge of local building codes and roofing industry standards
• Prior experience working with general contractors and property managers

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial roofing projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop complete and accurate proposals
• Perform quantity takeoffs for various commercial roofing systems (e.g., TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, metal)
• Solicit, review, and analyze vendor and subcontractor quotes
• Evaluate project risks and opportunities and incorporate them into pricing strategies
• Collaborate with project managers, operations, and sales teams during preconstruction
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site walks as needed
• Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and awarded projects
• Assist with post-bid reviews and project handoff to operations
