About The Position

The Fairfield Collision Center, a Penske Automotive Group affiliate, is looking for an experienced Estimator to join their team and deliver extraordinary customer experiences. As an Estimator, you will assess and appraise vehicle damage, estimate the costs of repairs or replacements, and communicate estimates and options with insurance companies, dealership personnel, and customers. This role requires a genuine interest in providing exceptional customer experiences, strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and strong mathematical and analytical skills. The position involves assessing vehicle value, determining repair costs, and communicating effectively with various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years in the collision business.
  • Manufacturer training and estimating systems experience (CCC, Rome, Reynolds, etc.).
  • Outstanding insurance relations.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate via face-to-face, phone, or by other means of communication.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to understand and follow work rules and procedures.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent; and two to three year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of one year's experience in retail automotive service.
  • Damage Analysis and Estimating Certification for Collision Repair
  • Mechanical and Electrical Components Certification for Collision Repair
  • Non-Structural Analysis and Damage Repair Certification for Collision Repair
  • Painting and Refinishing Certification for Collision Repair
  • Structural Analysis and Damage Repair Certification for Collision Repair
  • I-CAR Certificate of Advanced Training
  • Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Assess and appraise vehicle damage.

  • Effectively communicate repair options to insurance companies, customers, and dealership personnel.

  • Comply with all manufacturer standards of quality for repairs.
  • Maintain and distribute accurate program reports as required to management.
  • Understand and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations that govern repair of vehicles for insurance companies.
  • Process data and organize it for management analysis.
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and commissions.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Interact well with others and be a positive influence on morale of department, dealership, and organization.
