About The Position
The estimating position is responsible for material take-offs for wood framing, interior and exterior doors, windows, trim, hardware, etc. Estimator reviews plans and specifications relative to the scope of work and completes takeoffs in a timely manner. The Estimator will be located at the Huntsville, AL site. This position requires <25% travel to job sites.
Requirements
- Intermediate experience on Excel.
- Experience performing takeoffs on doors, trim, hardware, and wood framing.
- MUST be able to read and interpret architectural blueprints and specifications.
Nice To Haves
- Multi-family estimating is a plus
- Experience with an estimating or design software such as Plan Swift, Mitek, or CAD is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Work with sales to get all necessary information to do complete and accurate take-off
- Performs take-offs using his/her knowledge of the construction industry.
- Computes estimates for sales representatives in a timely fashion.
- Reads and interprets architectural blueprints and specifications.
- Recognize inconsistencies in blueprints and communicate to the salesperson for clarification.
