About the position
The Estimator/Project Manager at Klute Inc. is responsible for preparing cost estimates and managing projects from customer purchase order to delivery. This role involves analyzing proposals, coordinating timelines, and ensuring quality service while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Works with Purchasing to procure materials.
- Coordinates and manages timelines and deliverables.
- Works directly with the customer in the planning, procurement, and estimation of their project.
- Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Presents prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains bid database by entering and backing up data.
- Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price.
- Maintains cost keys and price masters by updating information.
- Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Requirements
- Knowledge in Autodesk Products/SDS2/Inventor
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word
- Ability to read and interpret structural steel blueprints
- Strong communication and organizational skills
