Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates on proposals, projects, and studies, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Adjust productivities, material prices, and methods based on project conditions.
  • Review solicitation documents to identify risks and opportunities for competitive pricing.
  • Coordinate and review estimating factors with Engineering, Procurement, and Operations teams.
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to the Estimating Team for all levels of estimates.
  • Assist in assessing the accuracy of estimates upon completion.
  • Coordinate pricing structure development and application to takeoffs and cost allowances.
  • Obtain and verify construction quotations and subcontractor compliance with documents.
  • Compile and analyze bids and develop reports for review processes.
  • Provide constructability reviews and guidance to the operations team.
  • Research and develop relationships within the supply chain.
  • Incorporate historical data to improve estimating accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating paving, sitework, excavation, and civil construction.
  • Previous experience on heavy construction projects.
  • Working knowledge of construction equipment, techniques, and applicable standards.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in the water/wastewater sector.
  • Knowledge of CMAR, CMS, Design-Build, or Hard-Bid estimates.

  • Experience with HCSS estimating software.
