About the position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join a leading construction firm specializing in municipal and K12 projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating commercial construction projects, particularly K-12 educational facilities. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, with an emphasis on K12 and/or municipal projects.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure accurate and complete estimates.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
- Monitor and update project budgets and cost forecasts.
- Participate in project meetings and provide input on cost-related matters.
- Maintain and update estimating databases and tools.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating commercial construction projects, with a focus on K12/municipal projects.
- A Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in commercial construction is required.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
