About The Position

The Estimator II role is responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for structured cabling projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of structured cabling systems, construction processes, and project documentation, and will work closely with sales, engineering, and project management teams to ensure successful project bids and proposals.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in estimating, systems integration, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of low voltage systems including some AV, security, and structured cabling.
Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, Excel) and CAD or system design tools is a plus.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., AVIXA, InfoComm, BICSI).

Nice To Haves

Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, Excel)
Proficiency with CAD or system design tools

Responsibilities

Analyze project specifications, drawings, and RFPs to determine system requirements.
Develop detailed cost estimates including equipment, labor, materials, subcontractors, and other project-related expenses.
Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to develop scope of work and system design concepts.
Prepare and present professional proposals and bid packages.
Maintain and update pricing databases and vendor relationships to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client consultations as needed.
Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
Track and analyze historical data for continuous improvement of estimating accuracy.
Assist in project handoff to operations and project management teams.
