About the position

The Glassing Estimator position is a permanent role within a reputable glassing company located in Greensboro, North Carolina. The estimator will be responsible for delivering accurate and competitive project estimates for various glassing projects, leveraging their industry knowledge and experience to assess project requirements and collaborate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Review project requirements, specifications, and drawings to assess scope and client needs.
• Conduct on-site evaluations and measurements for accurate information gathering.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure understanding and address clarifications.
• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, considering materials, labor, and subcontractor costs.
• Analyze project risks, issues, and contingencies for accurate estimates.
• Present estimates to clients, explaining scope, costs, and considerations.
• Coordinate with procurement and subcontractors for competitive pricing.
• Maintain accurate records of estimating activities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of proven experience as an Estimator in the glassing or construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of glassing projects and installation methods.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
• Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and proficiency in estimating software.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
• Comfortable looking at Storefronts, custom glass, doors, windows, railings.
• Experience working with $250k-$5 million with $1-2 million as the average.
• Familiar with PartnerPak and Bluebeam.
