About the position

Kimley-Horn is seeking an Esri Enterprise Server Administrator to manage and enhance the organization's enterprise GIS environment. This role involves the design, implementation, and maintenance of systems that ensure data integrity, security, and optimal performance. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement in GIS workflows and user experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain the organization's Enterprise GIS environment including ArcGIS Server, Portal, and Enterprise Geodatabases.
• Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of the ArcGIS Enterprise Environment.
• Monitor and report on the performance of the GIS infrastructure, providing recommendations for improvements and upgrades.
• Implement and manage backup and recovery plans for critical ArcGIS Enterprise components and data.
• Develop scripts to assist in ensuring best practices and governance are implemented.
• Collaborate with internal partners to assess and prioritize needs and requirements.
• Support users in troubleshooting publishing and service errors.
• Stay updated with the latest GIS trends, technologies, and advancements to propose innovative solutions and improvements to existing systems.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance GIS workflows, user experience, and overall efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Esri ArcGIS Enterprise Server administration, including software installation, maintenance, and updates on enterprise servers.
• Experience administering all ArcGIS Enterprise Components including Notebook Server, ArcGIS Monitor, and ArcGIS Portal.
• Knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise backup methodologies including WebGISDR, BackupMyOrg, and Custom Scripting.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud environments.
• Experience with SQL Server.
• Proficient with GIS software, such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Certification in GIS or related field (e.g., certification from Esri as Enterprise System Design Professional, Enterprise Geodata Management Professional, or Enterprise Administration Professional).
• Experience with web-based GIS applications and technologies.
• Knowledge of programming languages, such as Python, Arcade, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques.
