ESPN Production Intern, College Sports Features Team, Spring 2025

About the position

The internship at ESPN offers a unique opportunity to work with a leading sports entertainment brand, specifically within the College Sports Feature Team. Interns will engage in various production activities, collaborate with producers, and contribute to the creation of high-end features and original shows for ESPN's college networks. This role is designed for individuals passionate about sports media and television production, providing hands-on experience in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in weekly staff meetings and collaborate with feature producers on ideas and concepts.
• Research feature ideas from social media and articles.
• Gather elements for features including game records, specialty ENG/Film, and photos.
• Collaborate on rough cuts and story structure, logging All Access footage and sound.
• Organize and distribute completed features and vignettes for use on ESPN networks and platforms.
• Observe and assist on field shoots with feature producers, especially local shoots.
• Produce vignettes for air on college networks.
• Attend various events to understand the overall company and observe departments outside of Production.

Requirements

• Experience in sports media, preferably in television production or collegiate TV station involvement.
• Elite knowledge of sports, including current athletes, rules, and events.
• Familiarity with server-based media and non-linear editing equipment like Final Cut Pro and Quantel.
• High level of familiarity with ESPN programming and platforms.

Nice-to-haves

• Historical knowledge of US sports.
• Experience with editing, screening, logging, and archiving video.
• Familiarity with sports business trends and technologies.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a professional role or organization.
